POLL: Do you have a basement?

No; I had one when I lived in Colorado Springs, though. it was a true cellar rather than a basement. The house was built in 1902, and was originally heated by a coal-fired boiler; the cellar was still equipped with a coal chute :-) It was cold enough down there that I could buy things like apples and potatoes in really large quantities at the farmer's market, and they would "keep" all winter until the next crop came in. Not the kind of "chill" you were talking about, but it worked well for me :-)
