What does the grim reaper symbolize in this dream?

I had a dream that I was in an alley way in a city I didnt know, so basically I didnt know where I was. It was evening time, when the sun had just gone down. I was walking somewhere and there were two homeless men that were trying to get my attention, but I was walking normally away, hearing what they were saying, but not paying attention. Moments later, I am tying my shoe when I look up and the grim reaper is pushing me away from the two men, almost guiding me in another direction. So in a sense, it was trying to save me versus kill me, like they are supposed to do. I was able to see the face, still hooded with the staff, but its face was a skull with black skin(same color as his cloak) almost leather like. The reaper didnt talk, but rather just led me in another direction. Im still puzzled as to what this may symbolize. I had some issues sleeping months ago and Im just getting back on track and able to dream again, these dreams are more vivid than I have had before and I am actually able to remeber them. If anyone has to any idea what this dream could mean, any insight would be appreciated.
